UNION TWP., Miami County — A Pleasant Hill man was killed in a crash in the area of State Route 55 and South Rangeline Road this morning, deputies said.

Noah Trader, 21, was thrown from his pickup truck and died at the scene.

Deputies responded to a report of a truck down an embankment on Rangeline south of State Route 55 around 7:15 a.m.

“There’s debris in the roadway and the guardrail is all messed up,” a 911 caller who drove by the crash told dispatchers. “There’s a hill there, a real steep hill. It’s at the bottom of the hill.”

Freezing rain and slick road conditions were reported in the area around the time the crash was reported and deputies said black ice played a role in the wreck.

Rangeline will remain closed until at least Monday due to the guardrail being damaged on the bridge, deputies said.
