CLARK COUNTY — One person is dead following a crash on State Route 41 near Titus Road Thursday afternoon, the state patrol said.

At approximately 3:10 p.m. the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Patrol responded to the crash involving two vehicles.

45-year-old John Dooley of Springfield was pronounced dead on the scene by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Dooley struck the passenger side door of the man’s vehicle and then continued to hit a utility pole.

OSHP says that Dooley was driving northbound on SR 41 when a 27-year-old man also travelling northbound made a right turn into a private drive.

OSHP says Dooley was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The other driver and the passenger in the vehicle were wearing seatbelts and not injured in the incident.

The crash remains under investigation.
