DAYTON — A Dayton man accused of slipping his electronic ankle monitor while out on bond and assaulting a woman pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity Monday.
Travion D. Montgomery, 28, initially pleaded not guilty to felonious assault on Sept. 25, according to Montgomery County Municipal Court records.

On Aug. 31, Meinakola McLemore was found unresponsive and face-down on the basement floor of a Westwood Avenue home in Dayton.
His attorney also filed a motion Monday suggesting that Montgomery is incompetent to stand trial.
The motion asks for the court to evaluate Montgomery’s mental condition.

She reportedly had severe swelling to her face and head.
Montgomery was out on bond for a March 6 robbery case, according to court records.
He reportedly escaped his ankle monitor on Aug. 2 and the court issued a warrant for his arrest Aug. 6.
Bond for Montgomery was set at $500,000 with 10 percent allowed.
