DAYTON — City crews in Dayton will begin picking up discarded Christmas trees beginning Monday, January 3 continuing through January 14.
Ornaments, lighting, tree stands or other items must be removed, city officials said.
Trees will be mulched at the city’s Green Landfill on Wagner Ford Road.

The city said there is no need to call to arrange for tree pickup, and to just place the tree in your usual waste collection location.
Residents are asked to have all of their garbage/recycling at their usual pickup location by 6:30 a.m. on collection days.
City of Dayton residents can also drop off live trees at the Wagner Ford Green Landfill Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
