Dayton City Commission considers extending ShotSpotter system contract

DAYTON — The Dayton City Commission will look into extending the ShotSpotter system’s contract.

Currently, the system is only being used in the northwest part of Dayton.

The extension will provide two additional years of service but at a cost of nearly $400,000.

The system uses microphones placed around Dayton to pinpoint where gunshots are coming from.
