2 injured in fiery plane crash at New Carlisle airport

BETHEL TWP. Clark County — Two people, a man and woman, were taken to an area hospital with injuries described as minor after a fiery plane crash at the New Carlisle airport Tuesday afternoon, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Emergency crews responded to the airport in the 10,000 block of Milton Carlisle Road, east of New Carlisle, around 1:45 p.m. after the crash was reported.

A preliminary investigation found that as the plane attempted to land, it hit the grass landing and overturned, causing the plane to catch fire, state troopers said.

People at the airport who witnessed the crash helped pull the married couple from the plane as it caught fire.

Both the victims were transported to Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek for treatment of minor injuries, state troopers said.
