Cox Media Group Ohio presents checks to help with tornado recovery

The James M. Cox Foundation presented one last check Monday to the American Red Cross, Dayton Chapter.

The final $40,000 was presented by News Center 7 Anchor Cheryl McHenry and Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs to Executive Director Cory Paul.

FIRST REPORT (June 28):

Cox Media Group Ohio’s James M. Cox Foundation presented checks Friday to two Dayton organizations to help with the tornado recovery effort.

A $40,000 check was presented to the Dayton Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund by News Center 7 Anchor Cheryl McHenry and Market Vice President Rob Rohr.

“We so appreciate your support in keeping us safe during the storms and then your continued support of the community. We’ll be using this to get dollars on the ground to help those non-profits that are helping people get back into housing and getting resources that they need to rebuild their live,” VP Community Engagement Barbara Stonerock said.

CMGO also presented a $40,000 check to The Dayton FoodBank.

Cox Media Group Ohio has helped raise over $300,000 for tornado relief. They started by partnering with The Dayton FoodBank to distribute food and help raise $170,000. The Cox Foundation also donated $120,000.
