District employees gave each vehicle that drove up to the school three bags of food.

The food would have been served to school children for lunch. The district didn't want the food to go to waste since the schools are closed.

In about 90 minutes, all the food had been given away to about 11 vehicles.

About five percent of the district's students are on free or reduced lunch.

District officials told News Center 7 anchor James Brown they believe the need for for food will increase dramatically in the district because people will not be working in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
