Cold air funnel clouds have been spotted in the area Thursday afternoon.

These funnel clouds are smooth, narrow, and hang down a few hundred feet from the cloud base, according to the National Weather Service. They last only a few minutes before dissipating.

The cold air funnel clouds are possible through 8 p.m. for Auglaize, Champaign, Clark, Darke, Logan, Mercer, Miami and Shelby counties, the NWS reported.

They can touch down in rare cases, but only minor damage is reported when they do. If a funnel approaches your location, move indoors.
