Clayton’s city council declares state of emergency

CLAYTON — Clayton's city council has declared a state of emergency as a proactive response to COVID-19, a spokesperson for the city said in a release.

Clayton government offices will be closed to the public beginning March 23, lasting until April 12 or further notice.

Emergency personnel will continue to work regularly scheduled shifts.

Meadowbrook at Clayton golf club will be closed until April 12 or further notice and the annual Easter egg hunt is cancelled.
