Cincinnati Bengals veteran Giovani Bernard released

CINCINNATI — Giovani Bernard has been released by the Cincinnati Bengals, the team announced Wednesday.

Bernard holds the record for most receptions by a running back in Bengals history, with 342 career receptions.

The veteran running back was selected by the Bengals in the second round of the NFL Draft in 2013 and has played in 115 games during his eight seasons.

Bernard has rushed for nearly 3,700 yards in a Bengals uniform, with 22 touchdowns and 921 carries.
