A chicken hanging out in a front yard this evening crossed the road.

The rooster, who appeared to be tame and well fed though dirty, was spotted around 7:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Carlisle Ave. It crossed the road at a crosswalk, and one resident took it in and is using social media to try to find its owner. If he can’t, he said he has a friend who lives in the country who wants the rooster.

City leaders are considering allowing residents to keep chickens, however, it wouldn’t include the rooster found today. Under the proposal, only hens could be kept for their eggs.
