Shortly after crews responded, CareFlight was requested to the scene.

According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, a 14-year-old was hit by a shotgun blast to the left inner arm and stomach area.

Investigations relieved the juvenile removed the shotgun from a safe at the scene and pointed it in the direction of an 18-year-old.

That’s when the 18-year-old grabbed the gun from the juvenile and pointed it at him, and fired. The weapon was later found to be a 12 gauge shotgun that was loaded with a slug round.

The juvenile was taken to Wilson Health and then flown to Miami Valley Hospital for their injuries. They were last listed in critical condition, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office says this situation is still under investigation.
