Two buildings on the UD campus were damaged by water Tuesday night when frozen water ruptured pipes.
Dayton fire crews responded to the University of Dayton at about 6:30 p.m.
Capt. Larry Ables said significant flooding occurred in the UD School of Law, 300 College Park Ave., and the main bookstore in Marianist Hall.
Fallen ceiling tiles and what appeared to be a wet floor could be seen through the glass doors of the bookstore. Computer equipment was also covered in plastic.
As crews finished responding to a flood at the Downtown Dayton YMCA building at 9:30 p.m., Ables said they so far had answered 15 calls for flooded structures triggered by busted pipes.
The frigid weather, which has caused similar problems in several area communities because of subzero and single-digit temperatures, is expected to gradually warm starting Wednesday.
