Bank robbery reported at Springfield Fifth Third branch

SPRINGFIELD — Police are investigating after a robbery was reported at a Fifth Third Bank location in Springfield Monday morning.

The robbery was reported around 10:15 a.m. at the branch located at 2700 North Limestone Street.

A sign has been placed on the front door of the bank saying the location is temporarily closed, according to our crew at the scene.

Initial reports indicate a man entered the bank and handed a note to an employee claiming he had a gun.
