A 24-year-old Auglaize County man remains in jail on a criminal charge accusing him in a child sex case with a 14-year-old girl.
Shane "Bub" Matthews Jr., of Waynesfield, was arrested Monday on five felony counts of unlawful sexual conduct, Waynesfield Police Chief Nathan Motter said in a statement released Tuesday evening.
The police department and county sheriff's office are continuing to investigate Matthews, Motter said in the statement.

Auglaize County Children Services is assisting in the investigation as well.
"We will do whatever we can to keep our children protected, but cooperation from parents and guardians is imperative,” Chief Motter said.
Police investigators believe there could be additional victims that could provide important information, he said.
