51st Ohio Sauerkraut Festival returns

WAYNESVILLE — The Ohio Sauerkraut Festival in Waynesville returned this weekend for its 51st anniversary after being canceled last year.

Gates opened to guests in downtown Waynesville at 9 a.m.

According to a press release, over 450 craft booths and over 30 food booths are set to be at the festival.

Live entertainment will be held on the main stage throughout the weekend.

The festival is scheduled from Oct. 9 through Oct. 10.

Official parking for the event is located at Waynesville High School. There will be a free shuttle service within one block of the festival.

Besides last year, the festival has always been held in the second full weekend in October.

Last year the festival was canceled due to health concerns involving coronavirus.
