Firefighters and police responded to the park around 1:30 p.m. Thursday after a mulch fire had spread to the playground equipment.
“These three kids were sitting right there right before it started. One kid I saw running toward the back of Studebaker…the other two just followed. Then I look back and I see this thing on fire,” a 911 caller said. “It’s smoking, it’s bad. It’s on fire. I see the fire.”
Police reviewed surveillance video as part of their investigation into the arson.
