Employees of the Washington-Centerville Public Library will conduct informational picketing at a library public event tonight.
Librarians and support staff — represented by the Washington-Centerville Public Library Staff Association — will inform the public that colleagues are still being punished for using family leave after having a child, and also that management’s continued stall tactics continue to deny them a first union contract, according to a release.
The event will be from 5:30-7 p.m. today at Woodbourne Library, 6060 Far Hills Avenue.
The picketing comes after contract negotiations and mediation over important issues, like family leave policy, have failed to result in a first contract for WCPLSA members, a release said.
Employees voted more than six years ago to form a union.
The Washington Centerville Public Library Staff Association is affiliated with the Ohio Education Association.
