UPDATE @ 4:05 p.m.:
A 44-year-old Maplewood, Ohio, man was the driver killed in the head-on collision with a semitrailer on State Route 119.
According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Jeffrey McCullough for unknown reason veered left of center in his 2008 Chevy HHR and into the path of the semi.
McCullough died at the scene. An autopsy has been ordered, according to the sheriff’s office.
Mark Wolf, 53, of Mansfield, who was driving the semi, was not injured.
The investigation of the crash is continuing, according to the sheriff’s office.
FIRST REPORT
One person died in a crash in Shelby County Thursday morning.
The crash between a car and a semi was reported around 9:30 a.m. on Ohio 119.
Sheriff John Lenhart said the driver of a car apparently drifted left of center into the path of an oncoming semi. The driver of the car was killed and he was alone in the car.
Lenhart said the semi driver tried to stop but could not.
