A Huber Heights police officer was laid to rest today.
The funeral for Officer Philip “Kurt” Green was held today at St. Peters Catholic Church. Dozens from area police agencies paid their respects at the funeral.
A processional following the funeral went through Miami County.
FIRST REPORT ON 11/17-
A Huber Heights police officer died unexpectedly Saturday due to health complications.
Officer Philip “Kurt” Green died on Nov. 15, according to a release. Green was a 24-year veteran of the Huber Heights police division. His duties included patrol, evidence collection and police explorer advisor.
In honor of Office Green, badge No. 46 will be retired from service.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, Nov. 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Marker and Heller Funeral Home, 5844 Troy Pike. Green’s funeral will be Friday, Nov. 21 at noon at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 6161 Chambersburg Road in Dayton.
