DAYTON — For the second weekend in a row, hundreds of people gathered at Courthouse Square in Dayton to advocate for change.

The protest started with 8 minutes and 46 seconds of silence, the same amount of time a former Minneapolis Police Officer held his knee into the back of George Floyd's neck.
Protesters then explained why they were there.
"Staying silent is on the side of the oppressor," one protester said.
Protesters marched from Courthouse Square through the Oregon District, past the library and back to Courthouse Square, chanting for change and justice for George Floyd.
"I want to be on the right side of history and I'm here because I want equality and I don't want kids to grow up around this, this is disgusting and awful," said another protester.
"Today was a demonstration of solidarity. I wouldn'y say we changed things today; it was time for introspection and I love the fact that it was peaceful."
The protest came to an end at Courthouse Square. It remained peaceful and ended just before 2 p.m. this afternoon.
