Dave Burrows, vice president, Fuyao Glass America, believes the Moraine plant will have “up to” 2,000 employees by 2017.
Previously, the top employment figure company leaders publicly offered was 1,550 workers. When Fuyao first announced interest in the plant in January 2014, they said they expected a workforce of 800 workers.
“Sometime in 2017, we should hit up to 2,000 jobs,” Burrows said Wednesday. “I don’t want to commit to 2,000 jobs. But we hope to be at 2,000 jobs.”
The jobs are being driven by demand for Fuyao’s product. Fuyao serves domestic automakers from its Moraine auto glass plant.
