The Ohio Department of Agriculture is sponsoring a collection for farmers wishing to dispose of unwanted pesticides until 3 p.m. today in Troy.
The event is at the north entrance of the Miami County Fairgrounds, 650 North County Road 25-A, in Troy.
The pesticide collection and disposal service is free of charge and open to all citizens, not just residents of Miami County. Only farm chemicals will be accepted.
Household hazardous waste such as paint, antifreeze, solvents and other non-farm pesticides will not be accepted.
For other chemicals, residents may dispose of household hazardous waste items free of charge from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday and Saturday at the Montgomery County Solid Waste District Transfer and Recycling Facility, 1001 Encrete Ln., in Moraine.
