A passerby saw the fire from the road and called 9-1-1.
Neighbors told the department a woman lived there and was unaccounted for. She was located, removed and life-saving efforts were initiated, but she did not survive, Chief Steve Agenbroad of the Clearcreek Fire District said.
The coroner is investigating her cause of death.
Crews said bringing water to the fire required extra effort, as there were no hydrants near by. Tanker shuttles were set up to bring in water from surrounding departments.
It is currently unknown what caused the fire, but State Fire Marshal’s Office was requested to the scene and will handle the investigation.
Franklin, Massie, Wayne, Turtlecreek and Spring Valley townships, the City of Lebanon and J.E.M.S assisted.
