Woman indicted on aggravated vehicular homicide charge in deadly hit-and-run pedestrian crash

DAYTON — A grand jury indicted a Dayton woman Monday who police said left after causing a deadly crash where a person was hit by her vehicle earlier this month.

Crystal Stokes, 37, was indicted on charges of aggravated vehicular homicide, failure to stop after an accident and vehicular homicide.

Previously, police said the Taylor and the Stokes knew each other which prompted police to open a joint investigation between traffic services and homicide detectives.

Stokes is accused of being the driver of a vehicle that hit Traci Taylor, 49, of Dayton. Taylor was hit by an SUV in the 1000 block of Linden Avenue Nov. 3 and later died from her injuries at Miami Valley Hospital.
