DAYTON — Dayton police are asking for the public’s help to locate the driver of an car that hit and killed a woman crossing the street Halloween night.
Denise Jackson, 52, of Dayton was hit by a vehicle on Catalpa Drive near West Fairview Avenue around 8:45 p.m. Oct. 31 and died from her injuries, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office and Dayton police.

Jackson died from multiple traumatic injuries and her death was rule an accident, Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger said Thursday.
The driver of the vehicle that hit Jackson did not stop after the crash. Dayton police are looking for a Buick Lucerne sedan, believed to be a model year between 2006 and 2011. The car was described as either red or burgundy in color and is believed to have damage to the front of the vehicle from the crash.
