DAYTON — Dayton police have arrested a 39-year-old man they believe was the driver who caused a deadly crash Sunday before he fled.

Tasha Watkins, 35, of Fairborn, was killed in the crash at North Gettysburg Avenue, near Freudenberger Avenue.
Police did not release the name of the man they arrested. However, online Montgomery County Jail records indicate Jason A. Cartwright was booked into the facility Thursday on charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident.

Investigators said tips from the public helped them identify the driver and make an arrest.
Officers released surveillance video Tuesday and asked for the public’s help identifying the driver. The video showed a damaged vehicle that was involved in the crash park at a gas station before the driver got out and hid behind the building.
