Bart B. Ely, 49, was arrested by an FBI task force Tuesday just hours after a Fifth Third Bank was robbed in Englewood, a police spokesperson told News Center 7 Friday.

Ely was arrested and located based on information obtained by Englewood police during the investigation of the robbery, according to officers. He remains booked in the Montgomery County Jail Friday afternoon, online jail records indicate.

Ely was a named suspect in three other recent bank robberies in parts of the region. Tipp City police said Ely robbed a US Bank location on June 5. He was also a named suspect in a bank robbery on the same day at a First Financial Bank branch in Troy, police said in a social media post earlier this month.

Troy police added Ely also had a warrant out for his arrest for another bank robbery in Bluffton, Indiana, located about 25 miles south of Fort Wayne.

Englewood police said the case against Ely will be handled by federal investigators.
