Several community members gathered in a organized protest Tuesday afternoon in Springboro, a demonstration stemming from the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody last week.

Springboro police confirmed they were notified of the planned demonstration, which started around 3 p.m. at the city’s North Park, located north and east of state routes 741 and 73.

The protest was organized by two high school juniors who said they wanted to give people a safe place to voice their thoughts.
Springboro police were on scene and interacted with the protesters, before the demonstration ended peacefully.

Tuesday’s protest came after other demonstrations Monday in Dayton-area suburbs including Beavercreek and Centerville. Both protests Monday were mostly peaceful, and even saw moments of solidarity between protesters and police.
