Former Greene County corrections officer indicted on sexual battery charges involving an inmate

GREENE COUNTY — A former Greene County corrections officer was indicted on sexual battery charges that involved a female inmate, according to investigators and court records.

Antonio Goodman, 37, of Fairborn, was indicted Wednesday on two counts of sexual battery stemming from an investigation into the allegation of a sexual relationship with the inmate, Greene County Sheriff Gene Fischer said in a media release Thursday.

The incidents occurred between July 3, 2019 and February 25, 2020 at the Greene County Jail, Fischer said.

Goodman resigned from his position after the allegations surfaced, investigators told News Center 7.

“Information regarding allegations of a sexual relationship between the inmate and Goodman became known to jail supervisors. The detective section of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office conducted an extensive investigation,” Fischer said in a media release.

A special prosecutor from the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office was appointed to the case and presented the case to a Greene County grand jury Wednesday. Goodman was arrested after a warrant was issued and he was released on an own recognizance bond, Fischer said.

The date of Goodman’s arraignment on the charges was not immediately available. A photo or mugshot of Goodman was also not immediately available.
