Trucker in I-75 South road rage case pleads guilty

Harold Baker Jr., the trucker in the I-75 South road rage incident accused of firing a gun into the cab of another semitrailer, could spend up to 54 months in prison for his guilty plea.

The semi driver from Kentucky pleaded guilty Tuesday to felony attempted felonious assault and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle stemming from the Dec. 8 incident.

Baker, 51, of Middlesboro, Ky., waived grand jury consideration of allegations and made the pleas in Miami County Common Pleas Court.

He was arrested that night following what state troopers called a road rage incident on the interstate near Tipp City. Troopers said the shooting took place while both semis were southbound.

The second semi was driven by a Michigan man, who was not injured.

Baker could get up to 54 months in prison when he is sentenced April 4. He remains in jail in lieu of $35,000 bail.
