SPRINGFIELD — Police are investigating a shooting tonight in the area between South Limestone Street and Erie Avenue.
The shooting was reported around 8 p.m. after man who was shot in the arm showed up at Springfield Regional Medical Center. The gunshot wound, just above the wrist, was not life-threatening, police said.
The man told police he was shot shortly after he came out of Popeyes, 2134 S. Limestone St., and that he believes he may have been caught up in crossfire.
According to initial reports, the suspect vehicle was a Chevrolet Impala, but police did not release any suspect or vehicle descriptions.
