Dayton police said they are investigating a shooting on Malvern Avenue as an accident.
Officers said the victim was contemplating suicide, decided against it, but the gun went off accidentally.
The victim was hit in the shoulder and transferred to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment.
FIRST REPORT
Dayton police are investigating after a shooting victim was reportedly dropped off at Good Samaritan Hospital Friday morning.
Officers were dispatched to the hospital around 3:45 a.m. after the victim was driven to the hospital following a reported shooting.
Initial reports indicate the shooting possibly occurred only blocks away from the hospital near the intersection of West Fairview and Malvern avenues.
The condition of the victim wasn’t immediately known.
