UPDATE @1:10 a.m.
Dayton police said a man is in critical condition after being shot outside Gina’s Liquor and Drive-Thru on Germantown Street late Thursday night.
Officers and medics were dispatched to the business in the 2200 block of Germantown Street just before 10:30 p.m. Thursday on reports of a person shot.
Dayton police Sgt. Gordon Cairns said the victim was shot at least once in the torso and was taken directly into surgery at Miami Valley Hospital. He is listed in critical condition.
Cairns said investigators are talking with witnesses and reviewing security camera footage from the business, but the motive for the shooting remains unknown.
Police said the shooter was last seen fleeing the scene in a vehicle, but Cairns did not give a vehicle or suspect description.
FIRST REPORT
One person was wounded in a shooting at a Dayton business on Germantown Street.
Dayton police and a medic unit were dispatched just before 10:30 p.m. on a report of a shooting at or near Gina’s Liquor and Drive-Thru, 2229 Germantown Pike.
The victim has been taken to a hospital and police have stretched crime scene tape at the business.
