Rash of car break-ins reported in Kettering

Police are investigating a rash of car break-ins this afternoon in the parking lot of the Kettering Recreation Complex.

There were eight break-ins reported around 3:30 p.m. at the parking lot, 2900 Glengarry Drive.

Kettering police Sgt. Doug Gaudette said seven cars had their windows broken out. One purse was stolen but nothing much else of value was taken during the smash-and-grab incident. There are no suspects and the incident is under investigation.

Gaudette advised residents to keep belongings locked in the trunk so they are not visible to would-be thieves.
