Police: Driver passed out in intersection was 'tired'

A man found passed out in his car in the middle of a Dayton intersection Monday morning told police he didn't know anything about heroin and cocaine found in the car.

According to a police report, 24-year-old Anthony Franklin, was slumped over in the driver's seat when officers approached his vehicle on Brooklyn Avenue near Delphos Avenue and West Third Street at about 3:55 a.m.

They could tell the car was in drive and he had his foot on the brake, so officers attempted to wake him by knocking on the windows.

When Franklin awoke, he said, "You want me to get naked pooh?" to the officers and didn't immediately seem to know where he was, according to the report. He then took his foot off the brake and the car started to roll forward.

Officers yelled for him to apply the brake and then turned the car off and removed Franklin from the driver's seat.

Franklin told officers he was on his way home from Club Vex and was just tired, according to the report.

Police found suspected heroin and cocaine in the car, along with multiple cell phones, cash a scale and other drug parapharnelia.

Franklin was arrested for possession of drugs and several traffic warrants for driving without a license.
