OSP investigating Dayton prison sex case

The Ohio State Patrol is investigating a report of sexual misconduct at the Dayton prison.

Sources at the prison have told News Center 7’s Layron Livingston the allegations involve the Dayton Correctional Institution chaplain, who is on paid administrative leave.

An official with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections confirmed to News Center 7 this week that the chaplain, Kenneth Bozeman was placed on administrative leave Sept. 25, accused of employee misconduct.

“There is an active investigation underway, and I am not able to provide any additional information,” JoEllen Smith, the state prison official, said.

The state patrol has opened an investigation into what occurred at DCI, 4101 Germantown St., that could lead to the filing of rape and sexual battery charges.

According to the state patrol, a report was made from the jail Aug. 27 that an inmate reported having sexual intercourse with an employee sometime between Sept. 14, 2014, and Jan. 4, 2015.

Sources in the prison have said the DCI inmate is serving 18 years to life on a 2011 murder conviction and now is an inmate at Marysville.
