Nurse finds bottle of liquor in sick child’s bag

A Greene County mother was given a summons to appear in court on two counts of child endangering and menacing after an intoxicated incident at Dayton Children’s Hospital.

Police were called to the hospital at 1 Childrens Plaza about 4:15 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 31 after 47-year-old Rebecca Seipert reportedly called police from an emergency call box on the roof of the parking garage. The woman sounded intoxicated and wanted to know where her children were.

An officer found her on the top of the parking garage where she was combative and cursing. Seipert reportedly made threats to physically assault the officer.

Back down in the Emergency Room, it was determined that the woman had brought two children to the emergency room after her 7-year-old daughter couldn’t stop vomiting.

The woman was very intoxicated, with slurred speech and couldn’t stand without assistance, police said. She had a half empty bottle of Jose Cuervo tequila in her purse. A nurse also gave police a bottle of tequila that the was removed from the 7-year-old’s book bag, according to the police report.

The children were removed from the woman’s custody by children services and given to a friend to care for.
