Officials locked down Meadowdale for a short time as a precaution after the shooting , but students were not in danger, said Maj. Daryl Wilson of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
He said the sheriff’s office received the call about a man being shot in the leg around 8:30 a.m. The victim, who has not been identified, was shot in the upper leg, but his injury is non-life threatening, Wilson said.
The victim told deputies that two men entered his home in the 3600 block of Elderberry Avenue and shot him, Wilson said. Deputies searched the residence for evidence and the area for the suspect for several hours as they tried to piece the story together.
The suspects are two males. One wore a black hood and the other an orange hood. Both had on jeans, Wilson said.

Meadowdale High School and Meadowdale PreK-8 School have been placed on lockdown as police search for two shooting suspects.
Deputies are looking for two suspects after a man was shot around 8:15 a.m. in the 3600 block of Elderberry Avenue. Initial reports indicate the shooters were hiding under a car wearing black masks and waited for the victim to come out of a house.
The shooting happened near the Meadowdale High School and Middle School campus. Authorities are setting up a perimeter and deputies are setting up in the school parking lots as a precaution.
The victim was reportedly shot in the leg.
