UPDATE @ 3:32 p.m.
Anthony Ellis, 55, was arrested in this incident and booked into Montgomery County Jail on charges of obstructing official business, resisting arrest, failure to comply with police orders, and violating a protection order.
Ellis had an outstanding warrant out of Trotwood.
While the officer was trying to handcuff Ellis, the man reportedly tried to pull away and resist, according to the police report.
The officer had to trip Ellis to get him to the ground, where Ellis and the officer then wrestled before Ellis stopped resisting, according to the report.
UPDATE @ 11:06 a.m.:
A man is being cited for speeding after a traffic stop that required a call for additional assistance from area officers, according to a Dayton police supervisor.
According to police, the suspect was not cooperative with officers after police ordered him to step out of his vehicle when he was stopped in the area of Adelite Avenue and Eddie Street.
Officers towed the vehicle involved in the incident and it’s unclear what, if any, additional charges the drive may face.
No one was injured during the incident.
INITIAL REPORT:
Dayton police have requested additional assistance on the scene of a traffic stop in the area of Adelite Avenue and Eddie Steet this morning, according to dispatch records.
Officers requested the additional help around 10:45 a.m., however emergency dispatch traffic indicated one person was detained at the scene.
We are working to learn what prompted the request for additional assistance.
