UPDATE @ 9:05 p.m.:
Dayton police are awaiting the state’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation tonight to confirm whether a large jug contained alcohol or meth, said Lt. Bill Keller.
Medics and police were first called shortly before 6 p.m. for an overdose to the house in the 1000 block of Clover Street.
“We found a man apparently overdosed on heroin,” said Keller, who added the man responded to Narcan and was taken to a local hospital. “While the officers were here, they saw a large container with liquid in it and ingredients that could have possibly been a meth lab.”
The residents dispute it was meth, saying it was alcohol. “We’re going to wait until the experts test it and see what it is,” Keller said.
While crews are on scene, immediate homes were under a voluntary evacuation as a precaution and that section of Clover Street was blocked to traffic.
