A gunshot victim was indicted today stemming from a January shootout.
Corvelle Moon, 35, of Dayton, is charged with four counts of felonious assault and two counts of aggravated burglary in connection to a Jan. 20, 2015, shooting in the 4100 block of Merryfield Drive, according to a Montgomery County grand jury report released today. He is the second person indicted in the incident.
A co-defendant, 24-year-old Brandon Harrison, of Dayton, was indicted in May on two counts each of felonious assault and aggravated burglary in addition to possession of heroin and possession of cocaine, a grand jury report shows.
Moon was shot when he and Harrison were allegedly trying to break into a residence. The victims inside, who were both shot, told police they fired back in response to Moon and Harrison. Police found 25 shell casings at the scene, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.
Moon is being held in lieu of $510,000 bond in the Montgomery County Jail, where he has been held since his Oct. 7 arrest, online jail records show. His arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 10, according to the grand jury report.
Harrison’s bond is $250,000 in the Montgomery County Jail, where he has been held since Aug. 18. He is next scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 18, online jail records show. He will be tried separately for the drug-related offenses, according to online court records.
