Yesterday, Donna Baker learned she would not be indicted for firing the bullet that killed her neighbor.
“I had faith in Donna and I had faith in my lord. I knew that Donna wouldn’t let me die. But if she hadn’t been here, I’m absolutely convinced that I would not be here.”
UPDATE @ 11 p.m. (Dec. 4): A Miami County grand jury, in a report filed today, declined to indict the Pleasant Hill woman accused of fatally shooting a male neighbor.
Donna Baker confirmed on FaceBook tonight, posting “the best of news! No indictment. this is finally over and we are going to move on from here.”
The neighbor, 43-year-old Stuart Yeandle, had Baker’s boyfriend in a choke hold on the sidewalk in from of their East Monument Street apartment when she fired a single shot that hit the killed Yeandle.
Miami County Prosecutor Tony Kendell continues to await a decision from a judge allowing him to release to the public information about the case that the grand jury heard.
UPDATE @ 3:30 p.m. (Nov. 16) Miami County sheriff's deputies have identified the man killed in an East Monument Street shooting on Sunday as 43-year-old Stuart J. Yeandle.
Yeandle was shot once during a verbal argument with a male neighbor. The neighbor’s girlfriend, who has not been named, said she shot Yeandle while trying to protect her boyfriend.
The neighbor and his girlfriend voluntarily met with investigators and are still being questioned, according to the sheriff’s office.
UPDATE @ 12:44 p..m. (Nov. 16) One man is dead as another male and female are being questioned by Miami County Sheriff's detectives.
Investigators said a witness heard a lot of yelling then a single “pop” noise.
A body is lying on the sidewalk in front of the apartment.
No names have been released.
UPDATE @ 12:14 p.m. (Nov. 16) This is a homicide investigation, WHIO's Steve Baker reports.
Detectives are on scene with detectives conducting the investigation.
East Monument Street, or Ohio 718, is shut down in Pleasant Hill.

FIRST REPORT
Deputies and emergency medical crews in Miami County are responding to a reported shooting in Pleasant Hill.
CareFlight was put on standby shortly before 11:30 a.m. when Miami County deputies arrived in the 100 block of East Monument Street.
Early reports indicated a male had been shot and was unresponsive at the scene.
WHIO’s Steve Baker is headed to the scene and will update this story as more information becomes available.
