Gamestop robber pleads guilty to attempted murder

A Spring Valley Twp. man accused of robbing an area gaming store and engaging in a shootout with police in July pleaded guilty to all charges filed against him.

Micah Joseph Tuck, 22, appeared in Greene County Common Pleas Court this morning, where he filed his plea.

Tuck pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated attempted murder, two counts of kidnapping and a single count of aggravated robbery.

He faces up to 72 years in prison and a max fine of $95,000. His sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 6.

The 21-year-old was shot by Xenia Police on Montana Drive July 2, after he took an employee hostage at the Gamestop on Hospitality Drive.

Police said Tuck was armed with a .45-caliber semiautomatic handgun when he walked into the game store around 6 p.m.

Tuck forced the employee to the ground and stole a game console from the business.

The Spring Valley Twp. man spoke exclusively with News Center 7's Gabrielle Enright a few days after being released from Miami Valley Hospital, where he spent several days in the intensive care unit.

Tuck told Enright he wasn't insane, and he only visited the GameStop "once or twice" a year.

When asked if he wanted to kill police officers during the altercation on Montana, Tuck said, "I have nothing against them."

On Montana Tuck engaged in a gun battle with Xenia Police, where 18 to 20 shots were fired between Tuck and officers.

Officer Brian Atkins, with Xenia Police, was injured during the gun fight, but was treated and released for a laceration to his arm.
