IDs released in fatal Mercer County crash

HOPEWELL TWP., Mercer County — UPDATE @ 3:30 p.m.

Two Indiana women were ejected from an SUV this morning following a deadly crash with a semi at the intersection of Frahm Pike and Ohio 118 in Hopewell Twp., according to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver, 65-year-old Linda D. Aschliman of Bluffton, Ind., was pronounced dead at the scene. According to preliminary investigation, Aschliman did not stop at a stop sign at the intersection and struck a 2012 Freightliner driven by Jeremy W. Bragg of Ohio City, Ohio.

Aschliman’s front-seat passenger, 38-year-old Katie Wickey of Geneva, Ind., also was ejected. Wickey and another passenger, 65-year-old Katherin Christer of Geneva, were taken to Mercer Health in Coldwater. Bragg, 36, declined treatment at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Celina Fire Department, Celina EMS, Rockford EMS and the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s motor carrier unit.
