UPDATE @ 6:15 p.m.: Police are now saying four people -- the driver of the car and three bus passengers -- have been taken to hospitals from the RTA-car crash.
Dayton Lt. Mark Ponichtera says there were 20 people on the bus in addition to the driver. There is no information on their conditions.
A K-9 unit was called to search a field where the two passengers of the car ran after the accident. That search yielded nothing, Ponichtera said.
He said police will be interviewing the driver of the car, which was headed north on Clement Avenue when it collided with the bus headed east on West Stewart Street, and he likely will face traffic-related charges.

Police are saying their preliminary investigation has determined that the driver of a silver Kia sedan may have panicked when he saw a traffic stop nearby on Clement Avenue.
That driver sped off and collided with the RTA bus at the intersection, police say. Two of the three people in that car ran off after the accident.
Dayton Fire Lt. Tyler McCoy said the injuries to the driver of the car are considered serious.
That man and another adult on the bus have been taken to Miami Valley Hospital. The condition of the bus passenger is not available.
Seven Dunbar High School students on the bus have been taken to Dayton Children's Hospital. Their conditions are not available.
Police and fire/medic units were dispatched on the report of the accident at about 4:15 p.m.

Five medic units have been called in, police tell us, but it's immediately clear how serious any of the injuries are at this point.
One of the adults was in the car. The other was on the bus.
