A vehicle accident Tuesday night at East Hillcrest and Newport avenues involved a van that hit two parked cars.
The incident, dispatched at about 10:12 p.m., prompted Dayton police to close Hillcrest Avenue to traffic. Police reopened the street just before 11:30 p.m.
A witness tells News Cener 7 the woman driving the van tried to start her vehicle after the collisions. Police on scene would not confirm or deny that report.
One of the cars hit belonged to Bonnie Lowdenfaler. Her white Lincoln Continental was heavily damaged in the accident, its back end crumpled.
She said she's upset about what happened because she doesn't have the money to repair her car.
The woman who was driving the van was placed in the back of a police cruiser. There was no word as to whether she would be cited or taken into custody.
