Someone broke into the A2Z Liquidators, 3435 Linden Ave., and stole a cash box that contained approximately $500, according to a Dayton police report.
It happened around 4:45 a.m. Sunday.
Police responded to an alarm at the business and found a rear-door pried open and permanently damaged, according to the report.
Police said the owners believe a recent customer may be the culprit because he knew where the cash drawer was located.
The owners reported that the only thing stolen was a cash drawer that was stored in a display case, according to the report.
Investigators plan to review surveillance video and review sales receipts in an effort to identify the burglar.
