Two men were arrested in Preble County after an alleged carjacking at gunpoint in Moorefield Twp., Clark County.
James Tuttle, 23, of Etters, Penn., and Dustin Righter, 21, also of Etters, were taken into custody after Ohio Highway Patrol troopers spotted the stolen vehicle on I-70 in Preble County around 3:15 a.m. Tuesday.
Tuttle and Righter accused of stealing the vehicle from a man in Moorefield Twp.
The victim told deputies that he was driving in the 6000 block of Moorefield Road on his way to Urbana when he almost hit a person walking in the middle of the roadway, said Clark County Sheriff Gene Kelly.
He turned around to check on the man and when he rolled down his window, the man put a double-barrel shotgun to the victim's head and told him to get out of the car, Kelly said.
The victim was not injured.
Law enforcement was put on alert to look for the stolen vehicle just before midnight. Less than four hours later the car was recovered and the arrests made.
Tuttle was being held in the Preble County Jail on suspicion of receiving stolen property. Righter was not listed on any local jail rosters.
